Nice, its not rubbish....i thought you had genuinely met a friend at the start! i dont know my brain well at all....it (he or she, not sure) seems to know me though, very well and which buttons to push at certain times to generate a typical response. not even sure i would refer to it as a friend yet....it helps as much as it hinders at times....mindfullness here i come!

Like it Nick!

My only lasting theory on the brain is more of a pub gap filler than a sensible suggestion but you can make of it what you will...(it is, of course, meant for humerous purposes only).

Think of your brain like a herd of wilderbeest roaming the plains and acacia of eastern Africa, stalked by the numerous predators throughout its arduous journey. The Lion pinpoints the weakness, the young calf or the tired elder. It pounces and chases down it's eventual supper!

This serves to be beneficial to the herd, as it makes it stronger and faster (as long as they're not all eaten of course!).

Now think of your brain, and the many cells that make it up, as the heard and the lion as alcohol...

Great story this, intriguingly I work with a chap who says he was project managing a job in bermondsey where the was a guy who would play the same violin tune at three minute intervals by the bridge day in day out, His theory being that not many people would walk past twice, so they wouldn't know he was a one trick pony. He apparently did quite well for himself!!!

Hi
Good to read your blog and pleased you are enjoying time out. Great Bell story and can identify with it completely.
I have also taken time out and really enjoyed family camping holiday in France, cycling coast to coast with 3 famillies and completing my mountain leadership training course in north wales.
Now working on a project to open a motorcycle training schol and tour business from Exeter. Training all booked and looing for suitable sites. Really do not want to go back to corp world and have decided that any money I make, has to have a purpose and make a positive difference for other people. Spent a lot of time coaching Gordon B and he has just accepted MD of HP UK.
Take care and keep in touch

I had an interesting email conversation with a printer the other day offering their sustainable print services. My immediate reaction was that all our print buying is done purely on price in the current economic climate... cheapest one gets it and we dont care if their print press runs on coal or solar panels (assuming "green" is more expensive also)! But Sara from Green House in Basingstoke (www.greenhousegraphics.co.uk) told me: "It's tough at the moment but fortunately we are finding our green credentials are opening doors more than anything else". Very encouraging indeed and it turns out they do actually have solar panels that run their print works! At the very same time an opportunity to take on some work for the 2012 Games came our way and part of the criteria is to have a "sustainability print policy" in place... looks like one of those "strategic partnerships" us marketing guys encourage in such times is on the cards!! So the answer is yes - you can be environmentally focussed in this recession (indirectly perhaps!).
